Water sputtering
Trying out the new RV this weekend and filled the water tank but what we seem to get is a lot of air/sputtering coming out of the faucets while using the onboard water system and pump. However hook it up to city water pressure it works perfect what could be wrong?

Check your inlet line to the pump. You might be getting air in the system.

Update while we were sitting in the trailer having breakfast the pump was not running but my wife heard a noise and shut the switch off and it is the water pump running but it’s like the impeller is not pumping if that makes sense, it will pump water when you need it to but when it should not be pumping any water and you hear the pump stop you can still hear the motor running does that make sense?

Water sputtering
Maybe I should have said there’s a hum coming from the pump once you think it has shut off.

In that case the first thing I would check is how much juice is in my battery. A low battery will cause your water pump to act just like that

Actually it can, the water pump needs a full or nearly fully charged battery or it throws a fit.
While it might not be the cause, I assure you that it can cause what you described. Seen it several times, and even experienced it a couple of times myself over the years.

The water pump has a pressure switch in the pump head. When the pump is operating properly, the pump will run until pressure in the cold water line reaches the pump setting (usually 45PSI), then the pump motor will turn off. If pressure in the cold water line attached to the pump falls below a set pressure (usually 35PSI) the pressure switch will activate the motor to pump water into the line raising pressure. This continues as water is used and (unless there is a leak) the pump will not turn on until a faucet is opened.
Now, as for reasons the pump will continue to run:
1. Low voltage (the pump can not reach the pressure switch setting because the motor can not deliver enough power to increase pump pressure to the switch setting)
2. cavitation (the pump head is pulling air into the pump diaphragm) Usually this is from either the water pickup is not submerged in the tank and is drawing air into the inlet hose or there is a leak in the hose, either at a loose fitting or a cracked fitting on the INLET side of the pump. (If there was a cracked fitting on the OUTLET side of the pump, there would be a puddle of water under the fitting and the pump would cycle off and on as pressure drops)
3. plugged pump (usually this happens when trash in the fresh water tank is drawn into the pump head and then obstructs the diaphragm, causing it to not develop sufficient pressure to activate the pressure switch).
4. A "bad" pressure switch that does not shut off the pump motor when the pressure is reached.
If it were my pump, if it's a FLOJET pump, I'd first make sure the O-rings on the inlet fitting are not damaged and are lubricated (a bit of Vaseline or silicone paste works). Then I'd make sure the fitting is seated properly in the pump head and the blue locking lever is fully engaged. If that didn't fix the "quiet running" condition, I'd make sure the fresh water tank is completely full. If that didn't fix it, Id check to make sure the electrical fittings are properly connected and that the connections aren't corroded under the twist caps or crimped connectors. If it still was "quiet running", I'd make sure the inlet pickup is fully submerged in the fresh water tank.
If it is a SHURFLO pump, all of the above is the same, except there is no "blue locking lever" but rather the pump inlet and outlet fittings are threaded 1/2" plastic fittings.
If all of the above didn't fix it, I'd replace the pump.

When I experience this from my pump, I turn on all the taps especially the large tub faucet to clear any air from the lines and encourage a steady water flow. JM2C

Found the same condition before. Air in the line will compress,, water will not. If you have switched over from city water to pump make sure you bleed all faucets including outside shower.

I let all of the facets run for at least ten minutes, shut them out turned on one and still spitting. Then I plugged the city water hook up and same thing... time to replace the pump?

Does anyone know what brand pump keystone uses? I am going to order a AquaJet 55 ARV, 5.3 GPH variable speed pump for mine, but would like to know what keystone uses. I will need 10 amps for the new pump.

Our 2012 Cougar had a FloJet - Our 2018 Laredo has a ShurFlo. BTW, the ShurFlo is quieter and puts out better volume/pressure than the FloJet. If you have good voltage, and the pump runs, you have to be sucking air into the lines. The air has to be coming from the inlet side of the pump or the winterizing valve.

One would think I would find water leaking/dripping somewhere but after four days nothing.

Used the TH last weekend with the new pump installed with no luck, it still seems like its sucks air sometimes. I say sometimes because sometimes it doesn't spit out air, but it has a hard time shutting off, if at all, and rattles the pluming so bad it hurts the ears (kidding) but bad.
So Sunday morning I woke up, and I remember reading in the instructions for this new pump (Remco 55aquajet ARV) pump must have a hard stop, in other words no pressure tank.
And I thought to myself, you dumbbell you purged air from every outlet but one... the spray port! the damn spray port, so I threw my cloths on, grabbed the spray port hose, plugged it in and wala, nothing but air for a few seconds and wala the pump did not rattle the pipes and shut right off!!!! until she did dishes about 10 mins.later, it went right back to the way it was...
Why?
