Roof treatment

We just purchased a 2011 Montana 5th wheel & are wondering how often we should treat the roof.

You'll get a "bazillion" recommendations about how to care for your roof. Most of them are good, a few will probably be "out there" either in what to use or how to use it. That said, it's always good to "go to the horse's mouth" if you want good information to follow.

One excellent source of information is the actual manufacturer of the roofing that's on your RV. You can download the DICOR RV Roof Care Handbook here: https://dicorproducts.com/rudys-down...care-handbook/

In it you'll find a complete guide to caring for both EPDM and TPO roofing products.

Thanks for that link. We had been wondering the same thing. I have bookmarked the site.

I contacted Keystone customer service to ask about roof care for our '17 Carbon and they referred me to the manufacturer's website:

"We recommend using Alpha Roof Products as your roof is manufactured by Alpha": http://www.alphallc.us/

One of the things I found interesting on that site are that they do NOT recommended any sort of UV treatment/protectant:

"The Super Flex membrane is quite inert and will resist weathering well; nor does it require the
periodic application of products to protect it from ultra-violet light or ozone. In fact, these
products can often cause damage to the roof membrane."
