Happy jack beds

I am new to the electric bunk beds and just wondering if the beds have to be in the down position to run either the A/C or the Heat Strip. It makes sense to get better performance if the beds were down but that's not always possible if people are eating underneath but require heat/cooling. Guwould anything get wrecked by running the system while having the bed mashed against the unit?

The A/C unit does need decent airflow to work properly. Have you looked to see if in fact the top bunk is smashed against the intake? You don't need a lot of gap.

In my Impact, I run the back air with the bunks up. I have closed the dump to force the air into the ducts. No sense in cooling a single bed. There is plenty of gap between the top bunk and the unit. Enjoy.

I have the same issue in my Fuzion 420. The top bunk is practically pushed up to the AC unit and I think it interfears with the air flow. I guess I could drill 4 holes to drop the top bunk down a few inches but I think that will interfear with the auto stop switch on the bed setup. Have been trying to come up with another solution but haven't determined one yet. Called Lipert who bought HappyJack but they had no solution either. I think the rear AC is set too far rearward in the garage as a foot further forward would have made this a none issue.

So still trying to figure this out. Good news is now the cooler weather is here. Pretty dam hot in south Texas most of the year.
