Mine is in the backyard on a concrete pad. What is best?? Good question, you'll probably get lots of different answers.

Concrete pad - one side is up on a wood ramp/platform that I built which is roughly 6" tall to level side to side. I've also got a lot of slope down towards the back of my house so when I drop the nose only a very small amount of the 5th is visible from the street.

Concrete for me. What's best? Don't know but I sure enjoy not dealing with mud and blowing dirt...

Here is what Goodyear says.

Storing Your Vehicle Without Removing the Tires. Ideally, a vehicle in storage should be placed on blocks to remove all weight from the tires. If the vehicle cannot be put on blocks, follow these steps for tire protection:

- Completely unload the vehicle so that minimum weight will be placed on the tires.

- Inflate tires to recommended operating pressure plus 25%. Ensure that the rim manufacturer’s inflation capacity is not exceeded.
- Be sure the storage surface is firm, clean, well drained and reasonably level.

- Avoid moving the vehicle during extremely cold weather.

- Move the vehicle at least every three months to prevent ozone cracking in the tire bulge area, as well as “flat-spotting” from the prolonged strain of sidewall and tread deflection.

- Adjust inflation before putting the vehicle back into service.

Personally, I always parked on 2x10s until now. I have my RV stored inside so the tires are not exposed to the elements. In the past, even when parked on concrete I would use the 2x10s. Concrete is known for moisture, when you move a vehicle that has been parked on it, the pad under the tires is almost always wet. Now I just park directly on the concrete because the humidity level in NM is very low and when I move the RV the floor is always dry. I do go over about once a month or so and raise the RV to give the tires a spin to prevent flat spotting.

Well, he asked what is the best. I say storing the RV inside a closed building that has heat and a/c, parked on concrete. But, what do I do. I park it on my concrete driveway. Exposed to the weather. I do not cover the tires and understand why many do. If covered or not they still need replaced in about 5years, so I do not cover them.
