Low battery/Antenna booster

2015 bullet 251.The trailer has been sitting at the storage lot for 9 days,I went to check on it and the interior lights were dim,the battery meter reads 1/3.it has sat for a month and the battery hasn't gone that low so I checked to make sure everything was off and the only thing that was left on was the antenna booster.Im gonna assume that being on is enough to drain the battery. I've got the battery on a charger, probably not a bad idea to add a second battery.
And turn everything off.

You made it a month, your doing good. If you search some more I bet you'll find the LP detector was also on. Your radio will also draw for the station preset memory and if it has a clock, that too.

Disconnecting a terminal at the battery will insure everything is turned off.

LP detector-i did not think about that.that reminds me i made another rookie mistake last time we had it out i left the dog in the trailer for 4 hours(went for a dirtbike ride) and when i got back to the trailer i heard the LP detector going off, harley had jumped on to the front of the cook top and turned the propane on,filled the trailer.that could have been a disaster!!!!.I turn the propane off now if i leave harley in the trailer.
I will disconnect the battery when im storing from now on.

If it is outside storage, the little 5-10 watt solar maintainers can keep the battery up (when disconnected) so you have a full battery next trip.

Unless you disconnect the battery completely, there will always be a parasitic draw from the LP detector and stereo system (if you have one). The antenna booster will add to the draw if turned on.

Another way, other than disconnecting the battery, to cut off 12VDC is to remove the fuse(s) from the converter. In our Cougar, taking out one of the fuses disconnects both the stereo and the LP detector.

Low battery

I just fixed the radio thing. I was tired of reaching up to turn it on and off or to do anything with out the wirreless, and that battery draw, so while moving the radio down and making a small cupborad opening I decided to put in a switch just under the darn thing. Now I don't have it glaring me in th eeyes all night either.
A simple auto flip swtch doe's the job.Add that to the new shower curtain, and medicine cabinet . Oh yeh and the exaust fan vent for over the stove. Maks ya wonder if Keystone will ever get one right?

Cheers
Chuck

I took the battery home to charge up for a several days,i noticed when i hooked it back up that all my presets and clock were saved.Im gonna put a switch for that radio in as the blue lights are too bright for the wife at night.Hopefully we can make room in the backyard for the trailer so we dont have to worry about things like this.
