Securing your generator

How do you all secure your generator when you're away from it?
I leave my generator in the back of my truck. I want to be able to secure it back there so I can park at a trail head or somewhere, with some confidence that it will still be there when I get back. what do you all do to secure your generator when you're off on an adventure?

Is it safer secured to the trailer frame at the camp site, or in the back of my pick up secured to the bed? I'd prefer not to install a generator box.

Edit to add the generator details; Powerhouse 3100i. It's roughly the same dimensions as a Honda Eu3000.

Chain to something secure. At campground, generally sits on the ground, chained to my trucks tag hitch safety chain eye.

I have a big cable and good lock. Bolts cutters or battery powerd saw will get thru it after a while, nothing is theft proof. Make it hard to get and almost all crooks will go to the next place that has gennys or hitchs etc laying around. I would make some type of anchor points in the bed like eye bolts or something to lock it to.

I have a thick cable, I either lock it in the bed of the truck or around the back bumper of the TT. Just depends on where I am. I bought a long cable so when it's on the back of the TT it's about 6' away from any window or opening

If you have a toyhauler with the toy lock assembly dont chain it to that that thing is a joke ,We had our golf cart hooked to it and some one just drove off with the cart and we found the cart later that week with the cable still locked to the cart and the cable rapped up nice and neat around the back seat
