Beautiful photo Hank, thanks for sharing..... makes me shiver though, just thinking about the little guy 'casually resting' on that ice.
BTW, what's your 'typical' temp this time of year?

I would think between 30°F and 40°F. It's 8° right now and falling. But they expect it to be back up around 40° for the Super Bowl on Sunday. Not as crazy as the mid-West and South but still unusually colder than the past 30 years.

Friends/relatives of ours live in NW N.J. and report a great year for skiing.
I grew up on a dairy farm in that area and can well remember the blizzard we had the year Kennedy was inaugurated. It was cold and windy and we had snow drifts that had to be moved with pay loaders and D-9s. I think it's all cyclical. Great picture, Hank.

A friend sent me this link, Thought I'd share it. Seems that the more things change, the more they remain the same.....

You can get dissenting points of view here. I find the information there refreshing even if it (Climate Change) has been declared unassailable "fact" by the pols. BTW, we're shivering down here in the deep south.

Warming

Yea right.... And I remember a certain sect advocating with vigor the new ice age in the 70's... Gotta love all those reaching for the pork grants to study the latest.... Now for the RV side of the post... Sure am glad I got that Polar Package on the SRX.

'Cept now you need an upgrade to the Polar VORTEX Package.

Had an inch and a half of snow here in S GA Wednesday morning. Supposed to be 20 degrees here tonite. Both are unusual. And will be in the mid 70's by Sunday afternoon. One of the benefits of living 3 hours from the Gulf.

Don't bet the farm on the Polar or Arctic Package until you do some searches and reading. There have been several threads here with some interesting revelations about the cold weather packages. Most have turned out to little more than a marketing point with little to substantiate toe benefits of such.

I think if it wasn't for the Polar Package on my trailer I would actually have to buy some heaters and use the furnace this winter!
Thank you Keystone for the brilliant load of B.S that many including me fell for!:

Politicians Lie Most of the Time

There has been a solid ice/snow storm (8F to 15F) from Texas through North Carolina (Deep South) for the past three days - all due to global warming. We had nice soft snow that melted then flash-froze into a 1/4" inch of solid ice covered by 2 inches of snow in Birmingham, Alabama - 3 days worth of clogged highways (thousands of abandoned cars on the highways). Down here, the politicians don't even order sand until the second day and start spreading sand on the third day - per Georgia's governer.

A friend in Fairbanks, AK was having 45 degrees, and the bears were coming out of hibernation due to a ocean current shift (natural thing).
