Low point drain

Hi all, new to keystone and the site. we have a 2012 passport 280 BH and we are having a problem with the fresh water draining out of the low point drain if I unscrew the caps the water will start to drain for a few seconds then stops. I have look up in the tubs thinking something was blocking the water but there was nothing. when I have the caps off and I turn on the pump the water comes out like it should. I don't feel I should have to have the pump on for the tank to drain.

That is not where you drain your tank from. There should be a separate water tank drain point real close to those. Usually just forward of the low point drains and to the inside of the frame sometimes. Look where your water tank is located.

Also you may want to look under tt where your fresh water fill is, look for a hose with a cap that you can take off. Your low point drains are just for the lines in your tt.

Might be a dumb question but what does "TT" stand for?

My tank drain is under the water tank near the tank fill, and the low point drains are at the back of the trailer. To drain the low point drains you need to open the faucets in the trailer.

I will look for the other valve. I thought the two drains at the back of the trailers were the drains.

correct and I thought those were the drains to drain the tank. I guess not what are they for?

The two together, at least on my TT are low point drains for the water system downstream from the water pump. The single pipe is usually connected straight into the water tank which of course is before the water pump so opening all three will drain everything, or so goes the theory.

That being said, for winterizing it is advisable to either blow out the system with compressed air with the drain points open or fill the entire system, except for the water tank and water heater with RV antifreeze with the drains closed. But that's the simple explanation. It's just a little more complicated than that and you can probably do a search on this site for a more complete one. If not there is another forum called RVNET with literally tons of information.

So I looked on the other side of our camper and guess what there is another tube to drain the tank.
