Getting fuel out of the generator tank?

Has anyone come up with a way to get fuel out of the generator fuel tank back into the fuel tank with the pump on it?
I was thinking of installing some sort of 12v fuel pump and tying into the generator fuel supply hose so I could pump the gas back into the rear tank with the pump on it if needed.

Speaking from experience you should be running the generator, burning fuel, and by so replacing fuel in the pump/lines/carb with new fresh fuel. Burning fuel is by far the cheapest way (even at today's prices) to maintain the generator. Like everything on a boat, use it or lose it.

I have this thing called a Turbo Pump. You could use something like it to pump the fuel from the generator to a fuel can then pump it from there into your holding tank.

I wouldn't try to use any pump that isn't specifically designed for pumping gasoline. Static and/or electrical spark will ruin your whole day! Is a half gallon of fuel worth it?

Good Luck,

I'm with Mike on this one, I've had generators with 1,000hrs run better than the ones with 100. Exercise that pony Typically I only put 10 gallons at a time into the generator tank, and only use ethanol free fuel. That's plenty of run time, and if the generator tank runs out I can always transfer from the fuel station.
