Anodes

I have a 2014 keystone, I’m trying to find out how I get the right water heater anode. It says Dayton on the tag for the water heater. Any help please.

Chuck, First go to UserCP and select signature and make a signature with your year, make and model of your camper and same for your tow vehicle. Answers will have more context. Next, never heard of a "Dayton" water heater. Go to the outside of your camper and open the water heater door. There will be a placard with your make/model of water heater. Typically Suburban water heaters use an anode as they have a tank that can rust unless minerals are pulled out of the water. Armed with the correct model info, you will then be able to buy an anode if needed. Other brands of water heaters used in various Keystone models have aluminum tanks and no anode at all.

Chuck, your water heater was probably made in Dayton, Tennessee. Assuming it is a Suburban by Airxcell, tell the RV parts department if you want aluminum, zinc or magnesium. The socket size is 1-1/16 with 3/4 pipe thread. The aluminum rod will withstand harder water better than a magnesium or zinc rod.

Edited for correction

Dayton could be the brand if someone went to a supply house like Grainger to replace it. Dayton Industries (I think it was Dayton Electric years ago) make a lot of stuff.

Dayton, Tennessee is where Suburban water heaters are made. Possibly, this is really a Suburban water heater.
