Good place to buy wire?

Looking to buy 10 gauge 3-wire sufficient for 30AMP. (10-2 Romex with ground or 10-3 no ground?)
I only need a couple feet. Where do people go for wire supplies?
Thanks all.

If your looking for Romex, any big box hardware store will do. We use Home Depot as it’s closest.

Lowe's, Home Depot or nearly any "hometown hardware store" sells ROMEX 10/2 with ground "by the foot". Most also sell it in 15', 25', 50', 100' and 250' rolls as well as "by the cable spool (1000+ feet). Expect to pay double the price if you buy it "by the foot in short pieces".

I buy it by the 250' roll in the common sizes when it's on sale. To me, I always need to cut off a piece for some project. It's cheaper to buy it in bulk and have it at home than to stop a project, drive to the store to get a "short piece" and drive back home. Between the time and the gas, it costs more to buy it when needed.... YMMV

Just an FYI...

Lowes offers a 10% Veterans Discount every day. You register once, and you're ready to save on all purchases. Home Depot only offers a Vet's Discount on Veteran's Day unless your are Active Duty or Retired.

That 10% adds up over time, especially great with large purchases. As an Honorably Discharged Navy Vet... guess where I spend my money!

Good Luck,

Correction to the Home Depot discount. They offer the discount every day to veterans as well as retired and active duty. You just show them your ID if it has Veteran on it, or any other document showing your veteran status. https://themilitarywallet.com/home-d...tary-discount/

Just FYI

Most state DMVs will put Veteran on your DL if you show them your DD-214.

Home Depot is content with seeing Veteran printed on my DL. No other ID required. Home Depot gives the 10% discount for in store purchases only.

Lowe's will apply it to both in store and online purchases if you are signed up with them and logged in to your account when ordering.
