Thanks for the valve idea. I’ve been thinking about the same thing, to keep off my knees and banging my head getting out.
Mine too are screw on caps. I will see what PEX threaded fittings will go on and allow extending over to an easier point and attach drain valves. Just open and leave open in winter, unless you winterize with fluid, then clise.
