Cold weather one night

Camping this weekend at our permanent spot and I notice Wednesday has a high of 55 and a low of 31. We are going home tomorrow. Would I be safe to say that I can have a full propane tank and set thermostat to lowest which is 40 and open sink doors and be fine inside.

From your description it sounds like it will only be around freezing and not for any length of time like days. I wouldn;t worry about it. keep the temps higher than 40 so the underbelly stays warm. If you have one full tank it should certianly last you thru one night at a comfortable temp.

Kyle, I don't believe I understand your question. You're going home tomorrow, but worried about Wednesday's weather? I know I missed something somewhere.

Just one night around 30, with warming up during the day, you should be fine, even with no heat. Disconnect the outside fresh water hose so it does not freeze overnight and maybe break. Open the inside taps to relieve the pressure in the water system in case you get some ice developing in the lines somewhere(probably won't). Just my 2 cents...

^^^ What Stumpy said. With a couple hours at 31F, you won't have any freeze damage in the trailer. As for opening the faucets, I agree. Just remember to LEAVE THEM ALL OPEN... When closed, the faucet holds water and can freeze/expand in the closed space. If the faucets are left "turned on" there is no closed space for the water to expand and cause damage....

So, disconnect the hose, drain all the holding tanks, open the low point drains and all the faucets (don't forget the outside shower) and leave them open. Once the water has drained, replace the low point drain caps to prevent ants/beetles from crawling up into your water system.

Those temps aren't anything to worry about even with no heat. Stumpy gave some good advice on the hose and faucets. You could run the furnace if you wanted to or not (I probably would). You reference a full propane "tank"; do you not have 2??

I don’t worry until I get in the 20’s for a couple days.
Even then, the new pex plumbing handles freezing much better than the old systems.
If I have the heat on, it needs to get into the low 20’s or lower before anything freezes during the overnight.

Been camping in current RV for 7 to 9 days in the teens at night but each day over 32. So far not a single freeze problem. What I have found is when the temps stay below 32 for days is when care must be taken.
