Cougar 23mls hitch

My cougar came with a hitch pkg on the back for towing or a carrier. My question is about the strength of that unit or does it need reinforcement. I want to possibly carry a generator on a carrier. Gen wgt approx 100lbs, same for carrier.
Thanks,
Chuck

There should be a sticker on the hitch frame. The specs for your model say 300 lb. Max accessory weight and it looks like a tow rating of 3,000 lbs. with 300 lb max tongue weight. If only used as an accessory hitch, the weight of the cargo rack and cargo cannot exceed 300 lbs.
