Bullet U-shaped Dinette Bed
I searched the forums on this but didn't find anything really specific to this model.
The table, which obviously becomes the base for the "bed" has a curved lip. When you convert it to a bed that lip becomes a lever that flips the table up as you try to exit the bed. Is this really how they designed it? Or am I missing something?

Not really sure exactly what you are talking about, but if the end of the table isn't supported when the table is in "bed mode" then easiest thing to do is add some support.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about. The end of the table isn't supported. You'd think they'd have designed that better or at least provided a couple of short legs to put under it. I read some people rig up PVC pipe for additional support. Also a 5-gallon bucket is pretty close to the right height. The newer ones have the freestanding tables that fold down. They appear to be sturdier.

I made the pvc supports for the table. It made a big difference in the confidence I have in using the dinette as a bed. I am not sure how to get the picture to upload correctly. Sorry for the sideways picture.

Yes I'm going to have to try that. I'm thinking I'm going to need something farther out toward the edge, too. There's about 1/3 of it unsupported.

That's weird. My Hideout has close to the same dinette but has the support lip on all three sides. We've used it about 6 times and hasn't been an issue.
You can see the lip in this pic.

It's a combination of the curve of the base on mine and the lip on the table. It leaves a good chunk of it unsupported. Not a great design.

I just bought a Passport with the same type of dinette. There was a piece of black ABS that I didn't know what it was for.
Today, I realized it is some sort of aftermarket support for the bed. I may swap to the 2 pieces of PVC option also.

Yep that's exactly what that's for. You'd think Keystone would have come up with a better design (but I'm going to steal that one - looks like it will work).
Thanks for the pics.

Glad to help. I have no idea where they got the bracket the ABS goes into. The ABS is 5" or 6" in diameter.

It's a toilet flange, I think it's a 4"er.
They're cheap

As I was looking at the same photo, and before reading the next post, I was think the same thing, it's a toilet flange. PVC (Plastic) ones are really cheap. That's a creative "fix" for sure.

A toilet flang and drain pipe is inexpensive but if it was mine I'd go with what's there already and match it. Thry are readily available on line, thru marine stores, rv stores, etc.

HaHaHa... Had I looked at my own photo, I would have noticed that 4" is clearly printed on piece of ABS. [emoji3][emoji3]
