2020 Laredo 325rl

So I have a question. My 5th wheel has a hitch and it clearly states 300# of tongue weight and 3000# towing capacity. Yet the manual says 300# max and that’s it . Looking for your opinions and any experience you may have . It’s a 2020 Laredo 325rl. Thank you in advance .

Welcome to the forum

First question, is the receiver attached to the frame? If so then the 300# is the tongue weight limit. That mean linear downward pressure. 3000 pounds is the limit of anything your pulling.

Without tearing the Corrugated plastic away from the bottom I won’t be able to see if it’s bolted on. It is definitely part of the frame and it’s clearly marked at 300 and 3000. And thank you very much.

The HITCH may be rated for 300/3000 but the TRAILER is limited to 300/300, Go with the manual.

So I read the manual twice and it clearly states 300 pounds tongue and 3000 pounds gross trailer weight . Also states if you have electrical hook up and a place to hang chains then you’re good to go . The manual is kinda of a manual for all keystone trailers model year 2020 and obviously I didn’t read the 5th wheel section.

Thank you everyone for your input and knowledge.

I know that the 2021 Keystone fifth wheels have receivers rated to tow 3000 pounds. Almost all the new LCI frames now have tow rated receivers with safety chain loops, the old receivers that were limited to 300 pounds cargo and no towing did not have safety chain loops.

If it has safety chain loops and a 4 pin wiring connector it's obviously set up to be used for towing.

If considering towing a trailer behind a Keystone fifth wheel (the owner's manual prohibits trailer towing with conventional travel trailers built by Keystone) take a few minutes to go beyond the sentence in the Owner's Manual that says the receiver with safety hooks and an electrical connection "ARE RATED 300/3000 pounds".....

Just beyond that are a series of statements that explain the braking function requirements for any trailer towed behind a Keystone fifth wheel trailer with "OEM receiver". It's not always as "simple as reading one sentence".....

Check out the "receivers installed on Keystone trailers" commentary in the Owner's Manual, starting on page 30. https://keystone-rv-dealer-app.cdn.p...ers_manual.pdf
