Help With AC Unit

I cannot find the manual for my AC unit. I know it is the standard 13.5 unit but that's about it. It is starting OK but the blower will shut down for a few seconds and restart. It will do this a couple times then seems to run OK. We are using it for the first time. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on? Thanks for any ideas. John

Bellsharbor,

Is your hot water heater on? If so, is it on electric or propane? We had the same issue on our Passport the first time out with it. It kept shutting off and on constantly. After posting questions on the forum someone asked if we had the hot water heater on electric mode. We actually did, and after turning it to propane the air began working normally. I suppose the electric hot water heater was pulling too many amps for the air to run like it should. Now we will heat the water up with propane, then turn it to electric to maintain it. We will also switch to propane when taking showers to avoid the extra pull on power while running the air.

Hope this helps!

Our AC has a two speed fan. When the temperature is more than a few degrees above the setting, it kicks up to high. When it changes speed, the fan stops, there is a pause, then the fan restarts at the new speed. Ours is a dometic AC.

You might be seeing something similar with yours.

Thanks Mark and James for your information. I will wait to see how it works as I run it longer. It's starting to get hot in the desert in Arizona. I did notice that the fan will pause when the blower goes into the slower speed. Take care and happy travels. John
