2017 sprinter. Awning speakers.
Just picked up a 2017 sprinter 293fwbhs. My awning had Bluetooth speakers, but I can't figure out how to connect my phone to them. It had a sound bar under the TV so I assume that's where I would do it. It's possible there's a wiring issue or I'm just doing it wrong. Thanks in advance.

I believe your awning has Solaris speakers that are wired but also bluetooth capable. Look at the soundbar and see if there aren't options for something like "A zone speakers", "B zone" etc. I suspect one of those will be your outside speakers. As for connecting bluetooth I figure you would have to pair it like most other bluetooth devices.

My sound bar has abcd zones. Haven't been able to get any of them to come out of the awning. Just the sound bar itself. Might have to dig into when I get home with all my electrical tools.

I would find the make/model of the soundbar, find the instructions and start there. The outside speakers could be bad, the wiring, which runs through the awning could have a glitch or the bar could be set wrong - I would make sure it was set so you KNOW the speakers should be working before "digging into it".

Or maybe the sound bar has nothing to do with the outdoor speakers? Do you have a stereo somewhere? There are several manufacturers. Perhaps a setting or button on that would get you connected.

On my Cougar, the outdoor speakers are "wired speakers to the "C" speaker function in the stereo. There is no connection to any outdoor speakers on the sound bar. Go to your stereo (not to your sound bar) and look at your speaker selector function. It should be "Speaker A", "Speaker B" and "Speaker C". On my stereo, Speaker A pair is in the ceiling above the TV, Speaker B pair is in the rear of the main cabin and Speaker C pair are the outdoor speakers. Nothing on the sound bar affects the outdoor speakers.

I do not have that trailer nor have I owned a soundbar with a "receiver/control" module but at the 4:52 mark you can see that the "soundbar" is nothing like the ones I've owned and it also appears to have additional functionalities including speaker zones?

I don't have a seperate radio just the sound bar. Looks like I'll have to play with the sound bar a little more.

Yep. If your sound bar "is" also the stereo and there is a speaker selection capability on the sound bar/stereo combo, then somewhere there's either a "hidden magic sequence" or something wrong with the way it's set up or something isn't properly connected (or is busted). Finding the owner's manual may give you a hint of what to do to turn them on, then maybe it won't ?????
I've got a couple of pieces of equipment (my Mustang for one) that has some "hidden secrets accessible only by tapping the brakes 3 times, then pushing the start button, then turning on the left turn signal while holding the brake pedal..... So maybe your sound bar was built by Ford... Does it have a "pony logo" on it anywhere ?????

Did you look at the video I posted in #7? Is the soundbar in yours the same as that? That video is of a 2018 model like yours but it had the best close up of the unit. Below is another link that shows what appears to be the same bar in a 2017 unit at the :23 mark. Make and model will go a long way in trying to figure out how those controls work.

Yes the soundbar is similar to the videos, got it setup in my driveway now. I'll play around with it before my next trip in a week. Thanks for all the replies.
