Awning problems

Hello, and hoping you guys can help out. I have a 2015 Keystone Springdale and the awning was extended out but won’t go back in. I’ve noticed the last few times I extended it out it would not go in. I had to help it by pushing on it. Well nothing helped this time. I noticed the fuse is good and when I pull it out the red light does not come on indicating it’s bad. Others fuses when pulled has the red light come on. Could it be the switch or motor? Or is it at the panel? Breakers are not tripped either. Also how do you tell if it’s the motor or the switch. I can replace both without taking it to the dealer. But the fuse panel red light not coming on confuses me. Thanks guys for any help, Brian

Check to see if you have 12V at the switch if not then I would explore the red light and fuse panel issue. If you do have power to the switch you then check and see if you have power leaving the switch. If you do the switch is good. Next see if you have power at the motor when someone pushes the switch if not you have a broke wire. If you do the motor is bad.

The red light at the fuse panel requires some load on the circuit to work. Pull the fuse and then hit the awning switch (in or out) and see if the red light comes on then.

Also, when checking the fuse, don't depend on the red light - pull the fuse and check it with a multi-meter (on resistance/continuity setting) to make sure it is good.

Also, forget worrying about the breakers, they are only 120 volts AC. The fuses will be the source of power for the 12 volt DC awning motor.
