Outback 291UBH

I love the big pantry on the 291UBH. The entertainment center on the wide door is nice.
I’m concerned about the big door’s wheel rolling on the floor and digging a line in the flooring.
Anyone have any issues related to the big door?

We’ve had ours almost a year and have had no problems. Certainly crossed my mind as well at the time of purchase, but love the floor plan and storage.

Glad to hear it’s lasting.
I bought mine late fall and haven’t been able to really use it.
Thought I’d put a question out there to see what I might expect.

I agree it’s a great floor plan.
I added reading lights over the bed. Super easy.
I put a topper over the “glide”. Had experience with debris trouble.
Added curtains on each bunk.

I’m ready to get out!

I haven’t really done any mods, but I quickly decided after last season to ditch the outdoor Suburban grill, which is pretty much useless IMO. Put in a 17” Blackstone in its place today. I’ll post some pics later tonight but it was pretty easy. I’ve also converted my Weber Q1200 to hook into the quick-connect LP line near the outdoor kitchen, so no more having to tote little green canisters all over the place.

I have thought about the slide topper, so I’m curious what brand you went with and how the install went.

Like so many others, I just seem to keep finding things to spend money on, but it’s fun.

Yeah, fun little projects to customize

I had some experience with a slide leaking on my previous trailer. So I knew I wanted a topper.
How did the install go? Which brand?
I negotiated a deal during my purchase. I got the slide and install included. The total was $800 for the topper and installation.
The install went great ;-)
COVID has impacted so many supply lines. I had only one option, Lippert. Luckily, that was my first choice from my research. I didn’t find a large disparity in opinions and build quality. I don’t think you’d go wrong with other brands.

They look relatively straightforward to install.

I haven’t tried the grill yet. What did you dislike?
I’ve been wondering whether I would find burners or a grill style better. I had a camp chef before. I too enjoy using the quick disconnect access to the trailer’s tanks.

Thanks for the feedback on the slide topper - and a great call to work it into the deal. I’ll know to do that next time. I’m pretty sure I can handle the install, just like to get the scoop before I jump in.

As for the suburban 2-burner grill, I just found it was difficult to get a decent amount of cooking surface over the burners. Between the offset burners and the wind guard, it was hard to get a large pan or griddle on there, and, the flames were sensitive to wind Besides, it was a good reason to get the Blackstone I really wanted anyway. Nothing like breakfast on a cast iron griddle! Here’s a few pics of the install.

Happy camping - we are off next weekend for the Smokies.

I’m envious. Have a great time in the smokies.

Thanks for the pics. I like that blackstone grill.

Bumping this thread for any other feedback on the 291UBH.

Still enjoying the floor plan? Any quality issues? The hinged pantry door/TV center gives me some concern long term for sagging

No issues knock on wood. Hinge door continues to work well and after a year+ the floor shows no signs of wear.

Added a couple Mopeka propane tank monitors. They’re working reasonably well. Let’s me check the propane tank level from my phone.

I have a 2020 291UBH and there is no wheel under my pantry door - it went into dealer service twice for sagging and they “adjusted” the hinge but as of this summer the door is actually digging into the floor and tearing up a small part of the finished floor. Does someone mind taking a picture of what that little wheel on their pantry door looks like? I’m gunna have to pull it and see if I can retrofit in a roller of sorts and looking for a starting point.
