GPS Recommendations

I have been led down the wrong road (literally) for the last time by Apple Maps and want to purchase a GPS that is trucker/RV specific.
I would like to know what others on this forum have and would recommend.
I would prefer an app on my phone that will work with Apple Play on my truck so that I don't have another screen to contend with, but if that is not possible, I will learn to deal with it.
If I need to purchase a separate unit, then I would prefer one that I don't have to spend $50-$100 per year for upgrades (upgrades included with the purchase).
Also, if a separate unit, what size screen should I consider?
Thank in advance for your comments and suggestions.

I do t know what you could use on your phone but we purchased a Garmin RV and have been very pleased with it. Updates were included.

Ditto on the garmin rv. Costco has occasional sales and so does Camping World and the units come with lifetime maps. Lifetime means four times a year until they decide to drop support for a particular unit. We have a six year old unit that is kept up to date and has not messed us up yet. The only problem is when I forget to switch modes but I can't blame Garmin for that.

We use a Garmin also. Problem with phone apps is we travel into areas that don't have phone service. App is pretty much useless at that point. Yes you can download the maps but if you change plans...........

Just purchased the Garmin 780 used it the first time last week seems to be good. No problems even tells you about curves ahead traffic and lanes to stay in.
