Lemon of a Table

It has been brought to my attention that the collapsable dining table provided in the 2022 25RDS are under recall and being replaced since they are so wobbly. My last off the line 2021 from 09 August 2021 while the 22s were rolling out has one of these messed up tables. I've been placing shims in it since day one and when mentioned to service, not the selling dealer, it was ignored.
When I found out about the table recall, I reached out to Keystone last week, and no matter how I explained the issue, the response was simply "your VIN doesn't fall within the group for this recall."
So, I gave up and purchase a very nice drop leaf wooden table that fits with the slide closed from Nebraska Furniture Mart.
We plan on heading to the Northeast late spring, and Goshen is actually along or near our route. I wonder if we would get a better response if I hung lemons on it and left it set up outside of 2478 Davis Dr, Goshen?

Sounds like your stealership swapped the table out with another unit.

can you post a picture of the table folding mechanism? I'd like to see how different it is than the table in the 2021 version thanks,

ours is at the other end of the assembly run, built in OCT20. The table we have is solid so I was hoping to see a difference.

I assume your table is wobbly also?

My solution was to just purchase a new solid table from Wayfair.
Only the 2 of us, so really won't ever need the option to fold down for a bed.

Here are the pictures of the table in question. The sticky residue on the supports is where I just pulled off the tape that was holding the shims in place.
Note that the hardware is welded, therefore not adjustable. Also the gap between the supports when the cam is locked is ridiculous, almost good enough for the spark plug gap on your mower! Hope this helps others that aren't being locked out of the recall by their VIN. I know Keystone doesn't read these forums, but at sometime they need to pull their head out of the sand and realize not everything is attributed to your VIN....

it’s a table ….but with all of the sliding metal hinge joints it could also be used as a fingertip extractor

We had a pretty decent table in our Montana Fifth Wheel, but it as screwed down to the floor so we never had any issues with it. But ... eventually, we simply removed the entire table and all the chairs and don't even have one now. We use the living room area and TV tray stands. Mostly, we eat outside anyway. That empty space comes in handy for a lot of other things now. Getting rid of that table was a good thing thing for us. We still have the table. It's actually in the house and the chairs are in the loft of the garage if we ever need to put them back in the camper.

Something to think about? Do you REALLY use that table or is it just a pain in the neck? (literally .... when you sit there?????)

25RDS Table

Here's a post I made awhile back regarding the "table". We purchased our 25RDS Sept 2021. The table broke the first time out. I've gotten used to raising and lowering the table and it's not too bad now.

Here's the post I made......
We had the same problem with our dinette table. The first time I raised it, the latch broke. Keystone replaced the base with same type. I'm trying to be very careful raising and lowering the table. If it ends up breaking again, I found a different base that looks to have a much better latching mechanism. Here's a link...https://factoryrvsurplus.com/product...-legs-bed-base

This is the table we purchased from Nebraska Furniture Mart. It is a 42" double drop leaf table that fits perfectly in the RDS Rear Dinette Space and is narrow enough with the forward leaf down to allow the slide to easily retract without any interference. Using a strap around the back legs to the rear bench supports beneath the cushions when traveling.

Did they use the same table for the 2023 25RDSWE?

Uncertain, depends on if they stuck to the original RDS dimensions.

If yours isn't wobbly you should be ok. Ours was a sloppy wobbly piece of junk from the beginning!

I’d rebuild it better than it is. Never know what repair or replacement you’ll get from the recall.
I fix or replace anything in ours. I don’t trust dealer shops for any of my items.

I wouldn't even attempt it due to the thin steel channels with the hinge hardware welded in place, not bolted or adjustable, leaving significant gaps between the abutting joints when extended.

It's only the two of us and the Louisiana Catahoula so we don't need the bunk space. The new real table fits perfectly, the slide comes by with the same clearance as the original table / garbage. We simply secure the aft legs to the rear dinette bench supports under the cushion with a strap while underway.

I sent Keystone and email with my VIN, asking if there was a recall on my table, since i have one of the bad ones, and they replied with no recalls out there, sorry.
