We need to touch up the paint on a crack that my husband repaired (see first pic). Our 5th wheel is a 2007 Keystone Copper Canyon. Should we just start buying cans of spray paint and see what works best or does anybody have any suggestions? The color of the camper is kind of an off white

hard to say without posting a picture of where the damage is….post some pics and someone will chime in.

depending on where and how big the damage is you may be able to hide it with graphics or a large sticker…even different color paint …but again i have no idea how big or where the damage is

Have your paint store (a real paint store) eye match a quart of paint and buy a Preval spray kit. Keep it clean and it will serve you well. They are available at a real paint store.

There are paint stores in San Antonio that can use a computer scan to color match paint and mix the paint and put it in spray cans. I did this when I put a trunk on a Kawasaki Nomad to color match the paint on the rest of the bike. Was a pretty good match.

I think the best match would be available by having it color matched by computer. Any body shop or auto paint supplier can do this. I suggest calling around and asking who can do it and who has a large enough lot to pull the trailer in. Some paint shops that advertise RV painting should have the space and equipment.

What caused the crack to begin with? is it from stress from the slide or a broken weld in the wall?……The crack may come back if the repair didn’t fix the underlying issue.

Also the finish on the trailer looks like it’s weathered and light oxidation so if you color match then the repair will be the best
looking shiniest spot on the trailer which will still make it stick out…My bandaid post was obviously a joke but a small sticker or same color paint design to mimic the other swirl stripes might just do it….otherwise you will have one really glossy spot and then have to try and compound and wax the whole trailer to match it…just make a small pattern and trace it on the trailer and it will just look like a design…or paint a accent color the entire length of the slide…..the damage looks structural to me though because of the crack above the repair at the roofline…also looks like he may need to fair it out smoother before you paint…i personally wouldn’t waste my money on a professional paint job unless the trailer was five years old or newer or the exterior was pristine to begin with

If possible, find a removable panel or trim piece and match it with a quality spray paint. Sometimes just "feathering" in new paint will assist with blending the new with the old.
