New toilet seat

Would like to change the plastic toilet seat out for a regular seat. Does anyone know if a regular toilet seat will work on the toilet in a camper. My current one is elongated.

A standard elongated seat from any hardware store will do fine.

We love our seats to be wood and soft close. So much better than plastic ones in our opinion.

Sometimes. While it WILL work, some toilets will be ugly as sin. Mine has a cover that is built into the seat, that hides the water valve. Can't adapt it to a residential seat. I ended up having to pay $90 for the Dometic slow close version of what should have been a $30 residential seat.

I installed a toilet seat from Lowe’s and it worked fine. I did have to get some new mounting screws to help it not slide around. I ordered some rubber type mounts from Amazon and they work great. They were about 9.00 for two sets.

I traced my toilet seat on a sheet of butcher block paper, cut it out and took it to Lowes. I now had a template of the original. I walked the aisles at Lowes, found the toilet seats and found one that matched almost perfect. Mine was not oblong, but you can do the same with yours. That way, you know if it will fit or not.

As far as the holes for attaching? They are all identical. Same width for RV toilets and residential toilets.... and actually ... commercial toilets too.

Make a pattern, take it to a Home Improvement store, and just match it.
