New Member and nervous after reading some of these threads

Just bought a 30fs and pick it up sat am. Will be pulling with a 2014 crew-cab Ram 1500 (5.7 Hemi with optional tow package) Will be loaded with two Harley dressers most of the time.
Very concerned with stability now after reading threads here, but will adress those concerns in those threads.
Looking forward to sharing anything of help I May and appreciate any that i receive in these forums.

to the forum.

You are biting off a pretty big chunk of RV there. You might want to go to the Dodge truck site and double check your towing capabilities...

From what I can see, if you open the towing calculator at the side of every model, most crewcab short bed pickups with a 5.7L Hemi and two passengers have a max trailer limit of 8200-8700 pounds. That will put you at the maximum with an empty trailer, add 2000 lbs for two motorcycles and you're pushing way past your limit.

Check it out here: http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/towing_guide/

already checked

With its optional towing package, Mine has a tow limit of 10100lbs and tongue weight limit of 1469 lbs so it will be ok at 8216 empty and a lil over when loaded to its 12500 capacity.....I hope it will be ok since i also have no desire to do any high speed travel but i will agree that i am a bit concerned......will post further info in a more appropriate thread after i have a bit of time towing it.
thanks for your concern

You will have no concerns if you want to go fast, the hemi will have all the power in the world and based on the tow numbers you listed your truck has a 3.93 rear, getting it moving will not be a problem. You may notice some drop in the back but that can be made to look better with airbags and WD.

Your main concern area will be emergency or high speed stopping and maneuvers.

Did you add any sway control to the setup?

Welcome to the site and love the camper, two Harley's makes me jealous lol.

I agree, stopping will be your concern. Most yahoo drivers like to cut us off short at lights. I've practically stood up on the brake at times. So, trailer brakes, and there correct adjustments, are a big plus. And welcome to the happiest forum on the web. Happy Pulling!

Blue OX WDH was included for sway control but unsure of how well it will perform when bikes loaded. Guess there is always the Hensley Arrow as a last resort.
