Generator conversions

I have two 2000w portable generators that run on gasoline. I am looking at possibly converting them to propane. Does anyone have any experience with this type of conversion? Ease of conversion, change in noise level, exhaust fumes, use of propane, and any other information that would be useful? The kits I am looking at are ~$200 each. Is it worth that?
