2020 raptor 356 Jaboni solar controller

Just purchased and new raptor 356 with a complete solar package. Does anyone know if the Jaboni 30 amp controller should have constant power to it? To me it should shut off when the disconnect is off but after calling the dealer they are ensuring that everything will shut down minus the controller. With the solar being installed the panel is working 24/7 and constantly putting a charge to the batteries when needed but it does go into a “float” mode when full. To me these seems wrong and I should be able to shut everything down if need be.

It’s very common for pretty much all RV manufacturers to wire the solar so it is constantly charging the batteries. The dealership I work at now has units with solar, and if you turn the battery disconnect “off” the solar controller shows a fault. IMO your ok.

Our 2018 Raptor 353TS (purchased new less than 1 year ago) has the solar system direct connected to the battery. This allows it to always be available to charge the batteries regardless of other connections - so using the trailer "disconnect" switch does not interrupt the solar system. I really like it! We only have a 200W system, but it will keep the batteries fully charged without any shore power. The solar connection does have a heavy fuse (I think it is like 30A) in the connection which I have used as a disconnect when changing or working on the batteries. It's a great system.
