Added Surge Guard to Cougar Fifth Wheel

I got a surge protector for Xmas and added it to my Cougar 276RLSWE. It's a Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C and fit nicely under the coffee table between the back chairs.

Check my blog for photos and video of install

Tks for the pics n info. Looking to do the same. Just checked A----- and found one for $237.00. Just waiting to pull the trigger.. Christmas hurt the ole pocket book. I will hard wire her in as well. May also do the outside plug install while I'm at it. Always feared that one day the cord would get knotted up in the sealed cabinet. Then again no one can steal my cord with it as is. Before I pull trigger I will ck for a price directly from the dealer. So far every time I have done that I have saved a considerate amount of $$$$$. Tks again

Thanks, next thing I want to do is take off the thin access veneer panel and install a hinged door so I have easy access and maybe mount the remote panel recessed into it.

I picked mine up at http://www.rvupgradestore.com/ for 245$ plus 12$ shipping recieved it in 2 days ground. A----- price was pretty high at the time.

Cheers Ray

That's how I did mine, but the small cabinet already had a hinged door.I just cut a notch in he veneer so when I open he cabinet door, I can see the display. I still have the top shelf area to put junk. I also installed mine using interlocking plugs from Home depot, so in the unlikely event of a failure, I can easily remove it and have shore power. I also did the detachable plug thing for the shore power cord. I wouldn't worry about adding a hinged door. The veneer panel comes off with 4 screws and once it's installed, you don't need to access anything but the display.
