Fuzion 424 with side patio

We bought a 2019 Fuzion 424 with the side patio in July. The trailer has been in the shop since mid September for the punch list stuff. One of the issues was the glass entry door under the side patio doesn't seal against the weather stripping. The wall around the patio is bowed out. It is an exterior door when the patio is opened and to have a 3/4" opening at the top of the door isn't good. Keystone customer service has been a challenge to deal with. After talking with them today, they want to take the trailer back to the factory and replace the whole wall. I'm not convinced I want to have rebuilt trailer. Has any one ever had anything even close to this?

Fuzion 424 with side patio

I’ve seen trailers and motorhomes of numerous different brands go back to the factory for some repairs. Sometimes the factory is better equipped to do the repair, and the majority of the times I have seen it come back with a proper repair and “good as new”. That said, I would let the factory do the repair and then figure on a complete PDI before you accept it.

BTW-Welcome to the forum.

If its needing majority surgery the factory would be the only place I'd want it to be done.

The dealership may remove/replace a sidewall on a trailer once a year, once every 5 years? They may/may not even replace a window or door on an annual or less frequent basis.

On the other hand, the factory installs sidewalls, 30 or 50 or more a day. They not only have the tools and facilities to do the job, the workforce does it "day in and day out" so the expertise is there.

If it came to a major repair, I'd prefer the factory do mine rather than a dealership that might have one person familiar with the job and 3 "helpers" learning how to do it.

In reality, replacing the wall on "YOUR" trailer is the same as installing the wall on "every one that goes down the line"... The only difference is "this one is YOURS" and all the others, "don't have an owner yet".....

I'd suspect it's more "fear of the unknown" on your part. At this point, Keystone won't replace your trailer, so what alternative do you really have? I'd vote for sending it back to the factory for repair and deal with any issues "IF" they arise, not look for reasons not to move forward with the repair.
