Proper (recommended) time to seal roof

We have a 2017 17' Keystone Hideout tow behind camper - wife wants me to "reseal" the roof- can't find anything specific in the manual but I looked at it yesterday and it looks fine to me - no issues currently, no leaks.

my moto "if it ain't broke don't fix it" - any thoughts, ideas or recommendations?

Waiting until a roof is "broke" or leaks is way past time to fix it. If you have a 17 you should have been up on that roof no less than 5 or 6 times already checking it out. I completely clean and seal (roof treatment) mine yearly.

Every few months you need to be on the roof and check the entire perimeter seals (Dicor) for weather cracks or drying/cracking. It happens ALL the time. Check around every penetration in the roof; vents (of all kinds), AC, antenna etc. Any kind of crack at all clean then touch up with Dicor or similar product. Be sure and check the front and rear cap seals VERY carefully. They are prone to leak and if they do bad things happen (do a search on the forum). Wherever there appears to be sealant look it over very carefully and touch up with the appropriate product.

If it ain't broke don't fix it is about the last approach you want to take on an RV. They require non stop, extensive, pro active maintenance or they will become a real nightmare.

Danny’s advice is good. Keystone recommends regular cleaning and caulking maintenance of your roof. Here is a link to a video with more information.

There is a maintenance chart in the Keystone Owner's Manual. Why you didn't find it is ????? Check the 2019 version of the Keystone Owner's Manual, page 84. If you don't have a copy of the owner's manual, you can download it here: https://www.keystonerv.com/owners/owners-manuals/

That chart, by the way, sets the requirement to inspect and reseal the roof every 6 months. There is a comment on page 83 that reads:
"Inspect the roof at least every 90 days, paying close attention to all seams and/or joints and attachments where sealant is used. Look for cracks, shrinkage and/or gaps/voids in the sealants. These must be carefully cleaned and resealed. It is necessary to use the same sealant as originally installed if touching up cracks, shrinkage and gaps/voids. There is no way to know if 2 different brands of sealant will seal to each other. DO NOT use any type of silicone product on the rubber roof material."

Note: The bolded, red emphasis was included by me, it is not that way in the manual, although I did not change the wording.

Also check clearance light seals. Don't ask me how I found out.
