Got water heater

What would cause hot water heater to not work on electric.what should be the first thing to check?

Make sure that the switch at the hot water hearer is turned on

There can be two switches, one inside and one on the water heater. Is the circuit breaker turned on? There are two overloads on the waterheater.

BTW what is the brand is the WH, and trailer name and model.

While you're answering Frank's questions about what kind of water heater, what kind of trailer, how old, etc, if you'd also let us know if the water heater works on gas???? You say that the electric side doesn't work, but not whether the propane side does or doesn't work.....
