Thermostat replacement

I did this one because I like the fact that it can run on a schedule. So we can set it so the heat comes on before we want to get out of bed and the trailer is well on it's way to being toasty warm. I've used one that used to be in the house but did not have enough on / off cycles for us. Works great in the trailer though. This mod is well documented on several of the other forums and if your interested I'll dig up the link. One thing that residential units don't understand is the 2 speed fan for the A/C so I added a little toggle switch that lets me have the high / low setting for the A/C fan. Side note: when I first brought the trailer home as was checking things out I discovered that the factory had miss wired the fan. High was low and low was high, had to swap the wires up in the A/C unit.

Bushman, what modle do you have there? Where did you get it? Is the wiring identical to the old one? Would really like to do this mod.

Thanks, Chris

Bushman's looks to be one of the Hunter programmable models. They are readily available at WalMart.

NOTE: We went through a long discussion about replacing the factory Duotherm thermostats with aftermarket digital models. To the best of my knowledge, the new Duotherm digital models can NOT be replaced with any other thermostat because they use a proprietary communications format between the thermostat and the A/C and furnace. If you have one of the older Duotherm analog thermostats, it can be replaced with any number of different aftermarket digitals. The older Duotherm looks like this:

Use the search function to find an older thread that contains all the info and links you will need to do the conversion.

Here's the short version of the Duotherm analog to Hunter digital conversion:
