First time Fifth Wheeler
Aloha! We just bought a Laredo 325 and 2016 Ford F350 to pull it. We live in the Monterey, CA area and we're looking forward to RVing on most weekends. Any suggestions for first time users? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum from Southern MD. Enjoy is the number one rule. If you search the forum for lists or first time you should find some lists of things to have and or do.

Welcome to the forum!!
In addition to any advise you have received, I would add: take the trailer to a large empty parking lot and practice backing up and turning. Knowing how your trailer acts will help when your faced with backing into a tight spot at the campground. Otherwise enjoy the new lifestyle!

A list of to dos when setting up and tearing down are a must for me and my DH. We also ask each other "did you do xxxx?" and "did you do yyyy?". Helps us a lot.
Most of all enjoy it and most of all the journey!
Lastly any suggestions for great RV parks in your area?

Welcome! One suggestion from a guy who had to learn the hard way. On my first trip, I had just picked up my 5er, I pulled expertly (seemingly) into a pull-through for the night and parked it perfectly (I thought) for the steps, the patio, trees, level, etc.. Unhooked remembering the correct order for all the "remember this" and "remember that's".
Walked around to hook up the electricity and ...... toooo far away! Wonderful and getting dark. Rain?
Lesson 1 - Check for location of service posts for water, sewer, and electricity before unhooking.
Lesson 2 - Buy sewer, water hose, and electric extensions before needed!
Have fun!

Further to the above post. I have often wondered why some campsites are 75 or so feet deep and the power pedestal is at the entrance to the site. Have been about 5 feet short a few times even with an extension.

First time out stay close to home so you retrieve all the stuff you didn't know you needed till you got to the camp site.

Congrats. The f350 is a great machine. Be sure to monitor the Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF). Keep some onboard. Have fun!

X2. The F350 I have will give a dashboard alert that is EXTRA early and a pain because it keeps coming on every time the truck is started. The first time the alert came on for me, and after a few truck starts, I used some DEF that I carried in the truck thinking that it would be enough to stop the alert.
Nope. Alerts kept coming. I stopped by a Ford Dealership Service and was told that to stop the alert, I would have to fill the DEF tank to absolutely FULL each time. Partial fills won;t do it.
Your truck might be different.

Nope, truck not different, my knowledge base was lacking. The manual was not very helpful. You just keep learning.
