Angry Warranty and keystone a farce!!!

Well just so you know if your toilet floods your camper keystone will not take
Any blame nor will they try if your 1 year warranty is up it's up. The toilet warranty maybe would but try to get ahold of them no direct number?
My only hope is warranty on toilet will repair my camper but got my doubts
28,000 down the drain and no fixing according to them not their problem
2011 keystone 297ret camper stuck open filled underbody with sewer water,
Their comment sorry but out of warranty not are problem !! Never agin will I
Purchase from keystone " what a joke of a company thanks Lori Taylor for
Not returning my call head of owner relations " hope your proud of another
Un satisfied customer!, my only hope is either get an attorney or hope toilet
Company resolves the problem not looking good , maybe my insurance can
Fight you for the repairs will see !,, anyone else have troubles like this want to know if a class action is available ?

I understand you are upset but did you join this forum yesterday just to rant? There is lots of experienced rv owners on this site willing to share their experiences and possibly help you. I don't hear you asking for advice or direction. Keystone and my dealer have always handled any warranty issues I had within the first year on two different Keystone units. They are not obligated to offer any support after one year.

X2 - a one year warranty is in effect FOR ONE YEAR! It is unfortunate that your toilet malfunctioned and created a problem. Is there severe damage? If this was a one-time event, certainly, the mess can be cleaned up and put to rights. If, however, this was an ongoing issue that occurred more than once, then you are also culpable. In any event, if you have read the disclaimer at the bottom of every page on this forum, you know that this forum is not, in any way, connected to Keystone Corp. We're just a group of owners supporting one another. Sorry you have had such a negative experience. Good luck as you go forward.

I have had several warrantee issues that were all resolved. My one year is about to expire and I am having a major repair done this winter that was just approved. My suggestion would be to purchase the extended warrantee next time, no matter the manufacturer. They are ALL going to have their problems. Does what happened to you suck? ABSOLUTELY!!!!! But then that's why we have insurance. I recently purchased a newer used truck from a dealer. I paid $2k for the 100k mile extended warrantee. A month after driving it off the lot I had it back because I noticed an exhaust leak. I took it back and they told me it wasn't covered under warrantee. I would have to shell out the $1,800 out of my pocket. I was a little sore but after reading the agreement or "contract" that I signed, read that nothing to do with the exhaust was covered under the warrantee. Ok, I own that problem. I'm not going to hate the dealership for not doing it, or the salesman that offered it to me. I had no choice but to suck it up or have an extremely expensive yard decoration. Bottom line here is; don't hate on the dealership or the company for not doing free work outside your expired warrantee agreement or "contract". I wish you the best of luck with your problem and hope your insurance company approves it, and a shop does the repair in a timely manor.

Pretty sure your toilet sticking open isn't Keystone's problem especially after a couple of years.. There are two toilets used in these things and both manufacturers phone numbers are easy to find.

How is it possible to flush one of these toilets and not tell if it shut off? I have read of water valves failing so I flush and wait for the water to stop running before I walk away from it. It's a few seconds well spent.

My advice is sue, sue and sue! Spend your money on lawyers, stress yourself out and burst a main artery and have a heart attack over a simple problem!
Keystone sucks! We all know that....well I don't, I'm very happy with my trailer.

I guess I am not 100% sure what got stuck and how it flooded everything. What was the estimate from your dealer to repair it? No one that I know of covers anything when the warranty is up. You walk into a car dealer once you are over 3 year, 36,000 miles and see what they fix for free. Your insurance company might cover it.

Interesting that the OP did not mention any sewer water inside the camper, only the lower part. If the water valve on the toilet stuck op, the water would obviously drain into the black tank, but it's not under any pressure so the end result should also be lots of clear water on the floor of the trailer and there's no mention of that. It's kind of a confusing post and problem description.

FUNNY HOW THIS GOES The warranty is for one year after that sir you own it!Keystone did not make the toilet they installed it. and Javi gave you the numbers to call. how did you not know the toilet was running?kinda like not lowering the landing gear pulling the truck away and wounder why the nose of the trailer crushed the bed of the truck!.like others while my unit was under warranty keystone took care of any issues But now it's 4 years old and I am the repair shop. as others have said we are here to help each other. no one here works for keystone nor do they monitor the site. good luck with the repair hope you get it squared away and then enjoy it.

I would contact your insurance agent and file a claim with them since it is out of warranty. Depending on your insurance provider, it will be covered. It may also be covered as an extension to your home owners insurance. Good luck.

Cant tell what exactly got stuck open but when I leave my camper unattended I ALWAYS turn the water off at the spigot hoping to avoid something in the plumbing breaking and flooding.

Also, I only turn the water pump on when it is needed, do not leave it on all day.

Good luck!!!!

Unfortunatly, it doesn't sound like a warrantable event, but I'd be screaming pissed as you were if it happened to me.

Hopefully your insurance will come through for you!!!

I would remove the underbelly cover immediately and let it dry. It is probably not hurt as badly as you think depending on construction. It sounds like it was just clear water.

Smile Re toilet

Yes indeed lessons learned not a person other
Then family will be allowed in bathroom
From this day forward and will lock door
To make sure someone just didn't do this
To me on purpose you never know ?
For one my 297ret is a sprinter and
Very nice like you said we cleaned up floor
And I poked holes in under belly
To get water out so just maybe it isn't
Hurt as bad as first thought noble Rv
Was told by insurance to open underbelly
To check it out to get a fair claim done !
Wish me luck!

One time, I had the bright idea of filling the black tank to give it a good flush...Blocked the flush valves open and waited for it to fill....Of course, I forgot about it and flooded trailer. It was only 6 months old at the time. It dried out fine, no damage done that I could see.

Without a rupture the black tank water will vent out of the roof vent and down the side of the trailer.

To get into the trailer it must have overflowed the toilet bowl. How did it get into the basement?

IF YOU CAN you shold drop the under belly coroplast and let it dry out. Plus the insurance company can get a good look to see if there are any hidden damage. It is nice the toilet manufacturer came through with a new throne. when on camping people come for a visit. I always remind them to check the toilet after use.Just think, if insurance comes through you could end up with a better quality floor. Also can you get your hands on a dehuidifyer? run that for a few days to help dry things out. do you feel better after venting? if yes good your blood preesure will go down and you'll live longer to enjoy more campin. good luck!!
