The OEM tank sensors are not known for their accuracy - especially the black tank since it is more prone to having "crud" build up on or around the sensors. As mentioned above, despite taking great care to ensure that the tanks are clean, these sensors have a mind of their own.
I wouldn't place too much faith in their accuracy even when they have been barely tested.
Like the previous poster, even my FW tank doesn't give accurate readings most of the time.
Over the years, many of us have learned to use our own built-in "Three S System" of sensors:
sight,
sound and
smell. If you can see it, hear it or smell it, your tanks are full. Time to empty.
(You've noticed that I have omitted the other two "sensors" ---- touch and taste. Yuck!)
