I'd be interested if they actually had a Q, 100 mph speed rating molded on the tire.

The deal went very well. I placed the order 6 am and got the tires the next day. I didn't pay for next day but got them anyways. I only live less than 100 miles from them. but still that's fast

Must be a typo Maxxis load chart shows speed rating of 65 MPH

Then you must either have the Model 18RS or the 21RS, if you have any of the other several above this, those tires would be too small. Just wanted to make sure you checked this out.

it's a 28rsds and it has14 inch rims. The sticker on the side of the trailer calls for 205/75D14C

I often get into a lot of hot water for writing about things the way they are. So please remember this post is about my opinion and not a cheep shot at the original poster of this thread.

Over the years Keystone has often used very marginal tires on their RV trailers. This is a classic example of just how for they will go and still comply with the regulations.

The trailer in question in this post must have 3500# axles (minimum according to the specs). Tire fitment MUST be 1750# for each axle end (minimum). So, Keystone fitted tires rated at 1760# to each axle end.

This trailer does not have a very high cargo capacity so it’s probably often traveling very close to maximum load capacity.

The Original Equipment tires cannot be purchased in the next higher load range because none of the ST tire manufacturers build it in a LRD.

It is super difficult to balance trailer weight across all tire ends. It would require precise weight measurements prior to every trip. So, in all likelihood this trailer always has at least one tire over loaded. The only solution is to actually weigh every tire position before every trip or upgrade to a tire with sufficient load capacity to carry the overloaded tire (s). Let me confirm that I’m not suggesting the trailer is overweight. Any trailer can be within it’s load carrying capacity and still have an overload tire or two. Only when your load is balanced can that be prevented. Keystone seems to think all of their trailer owners live in a perfect world.

The next higher load range tire from Maxxis for this trailer that would not require upgraded rims is the ST215/75R14C with a load capacity of 1870# at 50 psi.

CW I like your post and you won't offend me by sharing knowledge.
I bought this used trailer from a guy a work with. He bought it new 2007. I'm new to TT. I had a popup years ago.
So I was confused when I started looking at the weights and the ratings. It has two 3500# axles = 7000# But the trailer is rated for 7700# They must figure 700# is on the tongue, right, But that's nuts to figure it so close.
And to your point there is no way of loading it perfectly even.
BUT When I got the TT this year it had to original china bombs on it. The guy I bought it from said he never had a blowout. How can that be if the trailer is so over weighted for the tires? So I wish there was more of a safety factor but I believe if I watch what I'm doing, ie check tire pressures and temps. And keep my speed down, leave the tanks empty, etc. I should be ok. I do plan to take it and get it weighed just to know where I'm at.

When I started reading about TT tires, it was an eye opener for me. I never thought about the uneven load thing. I wish I read your post months ago. I do believe there is a built in safety factor other wise there would be more blowouts. I can't believe the TT's I see going 75mph. Time will tell for me.
