OUCH! Hot oven vent!

K I can't even touch the oven vent unless I want some major burns!
Is this normal? Like there's nothing but counter top there!

Mine gets quite warm, which is why I usually keep that area clear. Anything that sits where your spices sit gets really warm. I've never touched the vent while cooking, but I try to steer clear of it.

If you remove the stove top, you'll get a good view of the oven layout. It's spring loaded, but I can't remember off the top of my head which way you need to slide it to unhook it from the other end.

Thanks, I guess I'll pop the lid off tomorrow and check it out.
I think on the Fleetwood that we sold last year it had the same thing going on.
I guess the only reason it came to my attention was that D said something while cooking.
