Cool New member from southeast Texas y'all

Howdy everyone. Love the info on this forum. My wife Gail and I just purchased a new 2013 Springdale and a new 2013 Chevy Duramax HD. Went to Sam Rayburn lake for shakedown with no issues. Packed up again went to Destin Florida next with our two granddaughters. Loved it! Just got back from Livingston lake, white bass were biting. Next trip to Galveston Labor Day week, bullreds are running. Have a few minor issues would like to discuss but right now having to much fun. See y'all on the flip flop.

to the forum. When you have time, just find the most appropriate place on the forum to ask your questions and post away!

And, BTW, would someone clue me in on what "see y'all on the flip flop" means? Obviously there is either a generational gap here or a local/regional expression of some kind.....

Well, yet another "Canadian/American South" euphanism that just doesn't translate laterally.....

See Y'all (you all) on the flip-flop (when we get back) is "sort of" local to southeastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana. When you do something or travel somewhere, to "flip-flop" is to do it in reverse ie: To return to the place you left, usually by the same route. I haven't heard anyone say that since we left Alexandria... Come to think about it, it's been a "coon's age" since I heard it..... (whatever that means) <wink

Flip Flops and Coon's Age

JRTJH and others -

I got the "y'all" but couldn't figure out the flip flop. I know that to mean (1) a complete turnabout -- change of mind or action and (2) something you wear on your feet in the summer - like sandals)

so.....in translation.... "See everyone on the way back." ?????

I am either at or approaching "coon's age". Hank would say that I am longggggg past it.

Hey Sydvero: You catch your whites around the island or 190 roadbed? I'm headed to LL State Park tomorrow for our "shakedown" trip. Boat is staying home for this one.
Gonna be hotter'n a $2 pistol!

White bass

Pine island had good numbers. 190 roadbed had fewer but good size.
