Retracted slide adjustment

How tight should slides pull into the trailer? The gap on the drivers side kitchen slide always seems a little excessive. I don’t want to hold the retract button too long and blow a fuse. dinette slide seems ok

Also what is the best seal conditioner to use and how often?

hey jasin1 your pictures look like about the same gap as on my 315 RLS on the slides, but my 315 is a lot older than yours LOL!
I think that sidewall rubber bumper makes it look bad. But we haven't had any issues yet (knock on wood)

As long as the bulb seal is touching and slightly compressed.... I'm good

And for the slide seals all I've used is some talcum powder on them and it seems to work good. When I worked on energized over head power lines our protective rubber cover up was cleaned and coated with a talcum like powder to keep thing soft and pliable. We wore heavy rubber gloves and sleeves while working on energized lines and the talcum powder was really nice to have on under all that hot rubber. It was kinda like a full size body condom that helped keep you safe on contact with the high voltage lines. Best job in the world outside and always high (really high up some days).

Doesn’t the powder get messy if it gets wet?

Ya bit but it usually just disappears with out dirt or other stuff sticking to it. Used it for 39 yrs on hand contact crews in all weather, rain, snow, blizzards and even nice days. It seems to work good for me.

IMHO the slides appear to be closed/sealed properly. The compressed seal likely accounts for about a 1/4" gap.
While at the factory for warranty issues the techs there recommended/used Pledge furniture polish to condition the seals, spray onto a rag & wipe them down. Used it, actually the dollar store imitation Pledge, for 6+ years on my last 5er on all the rubber seals/gaskets, worked great, dirt doesn't stick to it, easy to apply, much less mess than the talcom powder, won't harm the rubber & you can also use it inside on the furniture & cabinets, 1 product several uses.

At work we use a foaming slide seal conditioner, spray on and walk away. Camco is one brand.
