Mumby Kingpin to Gooseneck Adapter

Just got 2015 Sierra 3500. It has the gooseneck ball fitting, whereby should be able to hook up fifth to ball, and when not in use, remove ball and have full use of box with no rails interfering. One option is the Mumby hitch conversion that latches onto the pin and the ball in the truck box. Anyone have any experience with this hitch?
I believe my other option is the B & W which I have not researched yet. Any feedback/experience welcome.

Are you talking about an adapter that attaches to the king pin and converts it to a goose-neck hitch? I wouldn't do that. That set up will change the stress point on the front of your 5er and increase the possibility of stress cracking the frame and skin. I would go with the B&W or another std hitch that attaches to the goose ball. The Demco Recon is another good choice. YMMV.

Appears the Mumby converts the kingpin into a gooseneck. I wouldn't do it, there are too many good options IMO. Typically a 5th wheel RV frame isn't built for the stresses a gooseneck puts on it.

The only Keystone approved method of doing this is the Reese GooseBox.

38' Mountaineer; I used gooseneck hitch because I pilled gooseneck business trailers every day for 5 yrs. Retired, kept Mountaineer and installed Companion Hitch to work with my B&W flip over. Also, added Morryde cushion hitch and stopped almost all chucking-this really works and I get my full pickup bed back when not towing 5th wheel.
