Exclamation Unknown water leak 2008 Summerland

Hello,

New member today with a problem.....we just set up camper after winter, everything was good until I noticed water coming in the floor on left side of bed. We've only owned the camper for a year so not many problems until now. My husband took the outside water connection box out to see if he could find problem. He could barely fit his hand in there but did feel water. We cannot access anything from inside......is there a hidden panel we don't know about?

No idea which floorplan you might have, so this is only a guess. If your main bed is at the front wall of the trailer, then the water pump and tank fill fitting are probably under the roadside carpeted night stand/cabinet beside the bed. There are two or four #2 Roberts (square head) screws holding the top of that night stand in place. Remove the screws and you'll be able to access the water pump and most of the fittings/hoses that connect the water tank to the trailer plumbing system.

Thank you for the quick response. We are confused because we are currently using the fresh water tank with the pump because if we are hooked up to city water that's when the leak starts coming through floor. (bed is at front of trailer) We have no idea the problem yet until we get access, I'm shocked at hourly rate of $100 at a dealer, we bought ours used so it was a shock to us. Hope we can find and fix the problem.

If it's the back side of the city water connector that's leaking, usually that is a 1/2" screw-on connector. It may be loose or it may have become brittle and cracked. Remember, your trailer is no longer a "spring chicken" having lived through 10 winters, so some damage is to be expected. Hopefully it's that connector or possibly the part of the city water connector that has the one way valve (just behind the hose connection for your city water hose). Let us know what you find....

$100 an hour for shop labor rate is not that high. In some places it's $145 to $165 and even higher for "specialty labor" like on expensive motorhomes or luxury trailers.

Wondering what the OP's solution was? It may help others on the future.

$100 an hour is unheard of in my home area. $130 and up

Had similar issue on our first trip when we bought our camper (it was brand new). Water was following city water connection into storage area. Replaced the washer in the city water fitting which is a standard garden hose washer and the stopped. Let us know what you find.

Resolution to water leak. ...

Hubby finally made it home with a new pump. 10 years on the original. Water was actually shooting out of the end of the pump. The trap door was the nightstand area just couldn't find screws at first. Thank you all for your responses.....now, we are nursing a small leak in grey water tank. Oh the joys if buying a used camper but it's really nice just needs good maintenence which we are doing. Happy camping all!

New/used, not much difference, just possibly different issues.
