Entry door sill plate
Am trying to install a Morryde Step Above step and am having clearance issues between the bottom of the door and the new steps. Have removed the transition plate but see no way to remove the larger sill plate in order to gain clearance. Middle of this plate seems loose when prying up, but the ends where it meets the door frame are solid. My next idea is to cut the larger sill plate about an inch in from each end and remove the center portion which will gain clearance and will be covered by the new steps.
Any other ideas?? Thanks in advance.
Larry

Can't help, but planning on same thing, interested is seeing what you come up with. My doors sill is apprx 3/8" above the threshold.

While I have an LCI Solid Step set of stairs, that MORryde should mount the same way. That is directly over that 1/2-3/4 inch piece. The door frame is a single piece surround and while you can pry a bit in the center, the ends are solid. This is the way the LCI mounts, MORryde after reading their instructions seems to be the same.

A quick question. Can you close your doors etc with stairs down or must you lift them up each time. I went to their site to study them and they never show the door closing without lifting the stairs up. This was the MoreRyde site. Thanks

Be kind of ridiculous while you are in the camper to have the steps down and not be able to close the door. Also dang near impossible to haul them in while in the RV - weight wise as well as impossible angle without an outrigger plus block and tackle

Yes, this is the reason they look for 3/8" gap under the door. This should allow for the top plate to clear the door.
