Hwy 209 in Pa.

We are planning a trip from Greensboro,NC to Kennebunkport, Me in late June. I would like to know if anyone has taken Hwy 209 between I-80 and I-84 in Pa. If so, would this be a good road to travel pulling a 40' Montana. There is a Koa just North of I-80 that looks like a good stop on our trip.

Thanks for any input or suggestions.

I have taken 209 above I80. If I recall...its a 2 lane...not fast. You would have confirm clearances and brudge weights.

I would probably come up I 81 to PA...to I 78...to I 287 in NJ...to I87..Newburg NY...then over I 84.

I take the I78 I81 corridor south from PA routinely. Good route. I have gone north using I78 E, I 287N, I87 to Newburg to I84. Only issue was, at least at the time....highway in CT was narrow and extremely rough. That was 2 yrs ago...hopefully thing have been resurfaced in CT...esp Hartford, if I remember right.

It is by no means a short cut. As said its 2 lane 45 mph. No low bridges. It's open to commercial local only. So big rigs make it thru. You would be fine. There is a full hook up state park off 84 "pickerel point". That's about the same parallel location to the KOA your mentioning if u take the highway route. There is construction on I84 single lane with crossovers for about 10 miles in that route. I'd probably stick with the highway route. Easy on off and fuel at exits. 209 also will dump you out in town at the northern end of the water gap rec area. Then you have about 10 miles thru town back to I84. Depends what your comfortable with. Both are fine. Exit 1 of I84 in NY/ PA is on NJ border as well, and you can get NJ gas. Prob about 20-30 cents per gallon cheaper than anywhere
