Newbie intro

Good day all, I've been lurking for a while looking through the window and have decided to finally wander in. Lots of good information available in here from a broad and experienced group. I hope over time I can contribute in turn. We are new to RVing but not camping having done many years a while back in tents. Now it's time to get back out there as retirement gets closer but in more comfort. We plan to get a couple of years of short trips under our belt before heading off across the country for months at a time. We have a fair amount of international travel and we have seen bits and pieces of the USA but traveling by air leaves out so much and that's the adventure now, to see all the other connecting bits and pieces.
Presently on the space coast, using a 19 F150 with tow package to pull a 21 Cougar 25RDS. I hope to see you on the road sometime.
Thanks for being here, for the welcome and the assistance.

Welcome and congrats on getting your new camper. Use your camper a lot over the next 2 years and get all the little kinks worked out. In addition to minor failure repairs you'll be making, it will give you time to customize and personalize your camper. It takes about a year for it all to finally fall into place.

Again, congrats!

Thanks for setting realistic expectations. I've spent about 10 days in the last month in it to familiarize and work through the 2 things I experienced so far. I spent ~3 hrs in each of 7 days to get some practice in empty parking lots, around town and on the interstate building driving awareness and practical skills. Lots of yard camping and 1 trip to a local park for the 'real deal' experience. I'll post my 2 learning experiences as they may help other newbies.
Thanks again

This is a very sensible and logical approach. If you ever consider "boondocking" (camping without hookups) I'd suggest you do the same exercise only fill the water tank and unplug the shore power cable. This will teach you how to manage water usage, battery usage, and wastewater capacity. Good with your new experiences.
