Most of the time the “death wobble” can be corrected with new tires.

Like Javi said get a new mechanic and find a really good front end shop. I have owned nothing but Ram trucks and have experienced it only on a 2500 I had. Can definitely scare the you know what out of you. Despite what others say if you go to the many blogs and companies web sites it is not usually caused by tires unless they are way out of balance. Steering components where out and need to be checked regularly and replaced when needed.
My 2500 need a new steering box (rack and pinion) and the ball joints replaced. I have since learned to keep a close eye on things and have not had the problem rear its ugly head again.

Replacing the front tires on my 3500 did not cure the wobble. The track arm bushings and the steering brace fixed the problem.

I noted above that I had 3500 front end parts grafted onto my 2500 ... found my old link on dieselram.com about the upgrade

Anyway, the link reminded me that we used 4500 front end parts, not 3500 ...

I have installed one of these on my new 3500 recommended by Service Manager at the dealership of all things. I said new but not really 2018 Ram 3500 Laramie.

98% of the time its the steering stabilizer. even if its new, ive seen aftermarket ones that are not big enough. second 2005 has the older steering parts on it. there is a new updated kit you can get from the dealer that upgrades the entire front steering with the new stabilizer for around 500 in parts. its very much beefier. another is wrong tires. you need a good load range e tire with the proper inflation. its a very common issue with a very common fix. and you need a new mechanic.
