Truck has factory tow / brake controller and air bags so we should be good. Thank for the feedback!

OK, Here's a photo of a similar Springdale behind a small SUV with a WD hitch installed WITH THOSE EXTRA STEEL PANELS WELDED TO THE TRAILER A FRAME.... You can clearly see the shadow of the weight distribution bars in their bracket mounts, installed on the rig.

So, if it works on one rig, I'm not sure why/what is causing it not to work on every other rig with similar tongue A frames.... You may have to click on the photo and enlarge it to see, but it's all "right there in broad daylight"...

Here's the photo from another post today:

Whether using the wdh w/sway in the above picture or the little add on friction bars they are all going to have to be disconnected if the drive is that steep. The wdh/sway is just a far, far better option.

Everyone that I've known (including me back in 1972) who used or uses that type sway control has to remove them before backing up. It's in the troubleshooting guide in the HF instructions....

The problem: When you back up, you turn at a greater angle and bind the "compressing bar". As it gets to the end of travel, it puts pressure on the attachments (both front and rear). At that point, either one of the balls will fail or, as you've indicated, the bolts will strip or break...

So, any time you're backing up, remove the bars or you'll be buying new bars and possibly a new/rewelded trailer A frame.....

Here's what HF says in the instructions:

I learned from the dealer and Keystone that those extra steel supports were added as the Lippert frame had issues in the past with bending sometimes using a WDH. Going to just go with sway control at the moment. Thanks for the information.
