There's a company called Tommys Express Car wash. They run duallys. They designed the conveyor system to run them through. Nothing here in my neck of the woods yet, but they are growing. I did find a wash about 20 miles away with the same conveyor system. But they refuse to wash dually trucks. Hopefully they change their minds.

Less then 3 minutes long^^^^^
With all the birds around here it's unusual to go on a local drive from Nov to April without seeing 10 dually in a 10 mile stretch.
They are building a brand new wash in our little berg. Fingers crossed it's a conveyor style.

I was thinking the same but opted for a Chevy 3500 dually diesel long box to pull a 35' Montana 5th wheel.
I like the added stability towing in the wind and the when you get a flat on a dual you have the option to make it to a rest area or off the highway to change it. How do I know that? I had an inside flat last year going through the rockies on our way to Denver!
Critical to have a TPMS for both truck and trailer.

Those 59,000 miles were driving it all over MN, out to WY and MT at least 16 times, and out east to IN a few times. So, on the flat, in the mountains, and towing either the fifth wheel or a horse trailer 99% of the time.
I do rotate the tires every other oil change, so about every 10,000 miles. Do rotates every 10,000 miles because doing it every oil change was getting slightly expensive and time consuming. ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif) But, for me, a tire rotate on the dually is dismounting the tires from the wheels and remounting them since the inner dually wheels are steel and I want all 6 tires rotated. I have also not had a problem with any Ford dealer (3 different ones) I’ve taken it for getting work done, or oil changes (which would be dealers in 4 different states). Only issue I have is getting it washed since dually are not allowed in any car wash that is automatic.

I have always used automatic car washes for all of my prior vehicles but not for my dually..we do have a a few conveyor belt car wash establishments close to me but i haven’t used one with this truck yet. My black paint can get swirl marks if the car wash has brushes.
I remember back in 2005 i just got a brand new Ram 2500 with the 5.9 cummins….beautiful marine blue paint and just a really nice truck….took it to the gas station i always went to for my 1/2 ton chevy truck and they had a standalone touchless car wash that i took my old truck thru all the time…pulled in with my brand new truck and did not fold the side mirrors in because i never needed to on my old truck…watched in horror as the spray arm went down the drivers side of the truck and turned around the passenger side and proceeded to rip the side mirror off ….ughhh…it’s hard to make a cr wash stop in mid wash but i drove out when it went back down the other side if i remember correctly
Gas station owner was really nice and paid for a brand new set of oem mirrors the next day…funny but it was cheaper to order both mirrors then it was to order one

Thanks everyone. We have made a deal and will be picking up our Ram megacab dually on Monday, depending on this snow storm tonight . I don't worry about car washes too much. I wash it off when I get really dirty and get it detailed couple times a year.

Here in MN, we luckily have an “old style” do it yourself wash bay about 10 miles away. And, I’ve a kid that likes to detail vehicles. So, when he thinks it needs it, I give him some money and a-washing he goes.

There are Tommy Express car washes in MN. Check to see if there is one near you. Dually friendly.

Thank you for that! I’ve never seen one, but there is one in Blaine and one in St Cloud. Those are within 1.5 hours anyways. I’m going to measure our truck for height though, they say clearance is 84”.

Never heard of Tommy Express but I did find a wash that took duallys in Pella Iowa, about 1100 miles from home.
And the ….new owner of a local car wash maybe 6 blocks from me installed an auto car wash wide enough for duallys. No brushes, just fairly high pressure. Almost gets the truck clean. Works well if you have recently waxed.

Wish we had one of those around here. Where you drive in and stop and the high pressure water and soap get sprayed all over then the air comes out and blows it dry.
With a damp towel and a little rubbing after they don't look too bad for a quick wash.
