RoamLink vs. TravlFi?

I see the RV Life email media is currently running articles promoting the RoamLink service.

Has anyone here done a comparison of the differences (if any significant) between RoamLink and TravlFi? Anyone with experience with both services? (I see a search for RoamLink here fetches exactly one posting, before I post this one.)

As far as I can see, they both:
  • access several cell carriers for a single subscription price
  • dynamically switch to the whichever carrier has the best signal as you move
  • allow you to suspend and restart service (and fees) as necessary
  • have US-based customer service
Even the "competitive comparison" chart at RoamLink's own website shows the two services practically identical (some embarrassment is evident).

The main differences I can see offhand are:
  • deprioritized traffic on TravlFi (doesn't concern me)
  • low-cap, low-price data tiers available only on TravlFi (we're not TV streamers)
I've studied TravlFi's router manual and the device provides plenty of flexibility, including the capability to be used as a pure gateway for user-supplied routing equipment at the head end. I'd invest the same time studying RoamLink's unless there is some other reason not to consider them.

No clue about either system. I use Visible. No issues, low price. It only does not work if there is no Verizon service available in an area. Then we switch to our AT&T phones wifi service.

I tried Visible. Aside from their service having no data cap, it was indistinguishable from my existing T-Mobile service, particularly in terms of how often I ended up with no service at all. This is a problem in the western US. If you look at the coverage map on RoamLink's website, you'll see large unserved areas that even they can't serve despite their access to all of the four major cell carriers. Offering multiple carriers can't entirely solve the problem, but at least it greatly reduces where it occurs.
