Plastic sinks

My wife has expressed some concern regarding pouring boiling hot water into the plastic sink. Although very hot water is used to wash the dishes, she is reluctant to pour boiling water into the sink, like after boiling an egg in a saucepan and wanting to get rid of the hot and put in cold to cool the egg.
I think the sink is made to take it but would value other opinions.

Good question. I've wondered myself. Instead of taking the chance I just add some cold water to the pan of already boiling water to cool it down some. This tones it down enough to pour in sink then I add all cold water to cool down the eggs.

I always just ran cold water into the sink while dumping the pans right into the drain.

Hot water should not hurt the sink. Don't do like I did, while bowling some water I removed the lid from the pot and placed the lid in the sink. This will melt the sink. My DW said this was not all bad, now she can get a better sink.
