Dinette backrest

If you look at the floor plan of a Passport 195RB.

The back of the dinette, on one side, is against the pantry.
The back rest on the front side, on our TT is real loose. I'm kinda afraid to lean back when sitting at the table. There is almost nothing supporting the dinette back on the front side.
Has anyone done anything to re enforce this?

You could add brackets, but be VERY CAREFUL about length of screws in floor. I'm willing to bet there may be a tank underneath and you don't want to puncture the top of one.

Our 248RKS had the same issue. The only support inside the dinette seat is a piece of 3/4 x 3/4 wood. I bolted a piece of 3/4 X 3/4 steel angle iron to it to strengthen our dinette seat. We haven't had a problem since.

Another member on this forum, (boytimme), leaned back and broke the support in his dinette seat. This fix came from him.

Another member on this forum, (boytimme), leaned back and broke the support in his dinette seat. This fix came from him.

I had the same problem and purchased a 12" shelf bracket and secured it to the back and the seat frame right in the inboard corner. It took care of the problem for me and it was a simple fix.

I fixed the backrest. I used a shelf bracket that I first applied Gorilla double sided tape to. I was worried about how well the bracket would hold to the thin back rest.
After installing I used cardboard to design a template to cut out the seat board.
With the cushion in place you can't see the bracket and it's really strong now.

Nice job. Too bad our ultralites get there weight reductions from being fabricated with materials that will never stand the test of time. The longer I own my trailer and the more alterations I do, the more I see how Keystone is able to keep their coaches at the listed dry weights.
